HDMI on Blaze Tablet

Hi,

I am using 44XX_T2_REL_DB184 Daily Build Binaries to boot my blaze tablet.

I am using a Micro-USB to HDMI converter to connect to HDMI Device. I am not able to get HDMI display with this.

The clip plays in the Gallery app. Do I have to change any option to enable HDMI display.

Regards,

Febin

  • Hi Febin,

On the Blaze Tablet platform, you can find the HDMI connector beside the power button. The connector is inside the groove beside the power button. You can directly connect the HDMI cable (Mini Connector) to the board and the other end to HDMI TV.

It should work out of the box.

    Thanks & Best Regards,

  • Hi Venkat,

I used micro to HDMI converter as I don't have HDMI cable (mini connector). The HDMI cable that I use is slightly bigger than the slot that you were referring to.

I think I am using Type A connector and i guess you are referring to Type C connector.

For this reason I am using micro USB to HDMI converter and then Type A connector to connect it to HDMI TV.

Is this supported or do I have to get HDMI mini connector?

    Thanks and Regards,

    Febin

  • Hi Febin,

Our OMAP platforms supports only Type C (Mini HDMI Connector, near Power Button), Type A Connector (Fat HDMI Connector, on the opposite end of power button). From OMAP5 onwards, Micro HDMI Connector is also supported.

You have to use HDMI cable with Type A and Type C connector on either ends or HDMI cable with Type A connectors on either ends.

For using the Micro-USB to HDMI converter, the board need to be modified with MHL chip interfacing with OMAP HDMI connector which implements MHL protocol and has its driver.

I hope this clarifies your queries.

    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Venkat
