C6678 Floating point and fixed point processor

Why C6678 is mentioned as floating point and fixed point processor; Is it due to the availability of separate floating point instructions or do you have any other specific reasons?

Hello GS,

As the datasheet of C6678 said, the C66x is based and enhanced upon the C674x DSP which is a combination of fixed-point C64x+ and floating-point C67x+ Instruction set architecture. So I think it is the fixed/floating point support from C66x instruction set cause we take C66x as fixed/floating point processor.
