Hi Chris,
As I understand DM36x EMAC only supports 802.3 protocol standard and does not support 802.11 WLAN standard.
Thanks,
Prakash
Prakash,
I mean 802.1X. It is not 802.11 WLAN standard. Pls find detail at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.1X.
Chris,
IEEE 802.1 deals with protocols layers about mac and llc layers while 802.3 deals with the physical and data link layer for Ethernet. IEEE 802.1x offers authentication services at a network layer and can be used on any ethernet or other network medium in 802 standard.
In other words our EMAC port would be able to carry any traffic including 802.1x protocols as long as there is high level software that runs these protocols.

Anant
