OMAP-L138 support of MII or RMII in reverse mode

Hi Champs,

Can OMAP-L138 be used to interconnect EMAC using MII or even RMII without PHY? The design would need to supply the required clocks to MII/RMII as I don't think EMAC can output a clock.

The goal is to interconnect two OMAP-L138 over EMAC without the need of a PHY.

This should be doable. I am not aware of any known implementation to point you to , but from a feasibility stand point we do not see any issue. In RMII mode, ,you can use the device generated RMII_CLK (PLL0_SYSCLK7). I believe this should be ok as there should be no jitter requirement for EMAC to EMAC IPC (the note on SYSCLK7 not meeting the RMII REF CLK requirement of 50 MHz +/- 50 ppm will not apply).
