Navigation Bar in ICS

Hi,

Here I am porting the android ICS in my LCD of resolution 800x480. But I couldn't to see the navigation bar (home,menu,recent applications) in my LCD. But in HDMI resolution (720p, 1080p) it is showing as tablet view and I can able to get the navigation bar also. But in my LCD, it will show as phone view and I cannot get the navigation bar keys. Please suggest me any solution to enable the navigation bar in my LCD.

Hi Sahil,

Apply following patch on <Android source>/device/ti/<TARGET_PRODUCT> repository and try.

I did those changes in my code. But Still I can't fix that issue. What to do. Any other suggestions. Please let me know.

After applying the changes and rebuilding, do you see a black strip at the bottom or right side on the LCD display?

Hi Vishveshwar,

I dint get any black strip at bottom or in the right side. But I am getting my status bar in the top. But before I applied this patch, at the time also same thing was happened. I dint get any change in this.

Please give any other suggestion to solve this.

Did you ensure that you are indeed using the new android image after setting the following line in your respective overlay and applying the patches I linked earlier:

<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">true</bool>

This works fine for us on AM335xevm and Flashboard devices, both of which have 800x480 LCDs.

We are using ICS 4.03 downloaded from the rowboat repository, the LCD size also is 800x480, we compiled it with 'beagleboard' default configurations. We modified 'config.xml' of beagleboard to set '<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">true</bool>'. After that, we see a black strip at the right side on LCD display, but without any button icons. Where the icons, could you give us some suggestion?
