C5515 Pin Multiplexing Confusion

Hi all,

I want to configure C5515 to use GPIO together with SPI. Therefore I am using EBSR->PPMODE MODE6, data sheet p 63 state that in MODE6, 6 GPIO are routed to parallel port. I am using GPIO pins of GP11, GP4 and GP1 as outputs. To achieve this I should set SP0 MODE to MODE2 (for GP[11:6]) and SP1 MODE to MODE 2 (for GP[5:0]), how CPU decides to select which SP will be used? I think that only one of SP modes can be used at one time therefore I can enable either GP11 or GP4 & GP1 at one time, am I right?
