PRU-ICSS and EtherCAT

Hey,

I trying to evaluate the EtherCAT function of the AM335x, I run the EtherCAT demo application. In the example, the PRU`s are disabeld and I can`t find the point where they are enabeld. So, how does they work? Are they enabeld at a point I couldnt see or is the PRU ICSS running after programming?

Michael,

this is done in bsp_init() (see tiescbsp.c).

If EtherCAT works you can be sure the PRUs are running :-). No magic here...

I know this function, but it is not done with PRUSSDRVPruEnable() and after the eeprom was loaded, I can`t see sth that starts the PRU. Only a reset is done some lines before.

Sure it isn`t magic?

No magic... or I need to earn more money...

done through: prussdrv_exec_program(1, "./ecat_host_interface.bin");
Loads and starts a program on PRU1 (forget the string...). Also see PRUSSDRVPruExecProgram() in pruss_drv.c for more details.
