Where is mkfs.ubifs and ubifs.img for AM335xEVM

I am trying to find a prebuilt ubifs.img for AM335xEVM. I can not find it at Ti's website. I am also trying to find mkfs.ubifs, and I can not find it.

Then I followed a link processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MTD_Utilities#MTD-Utilis#MTD-Utils_Compilation in processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/UBIFS_Support.

I built it successfully. But I only see mkfs.ext3 and mkfs.ext4, but no mkfs.ubifs

Can anyone tell me?

On Ubuntu systems the easiest way to get this is to install the mtd-utils package. This will install mkfs.ubifs as well as the ubiformat and ubinize utilities.

The documentation spend a lot of pages on talking build MTD utility. Your answer is just a line, simple, easy and accurate. I think the documentation is really redundant.

I installed mtd-utils package as you told and got mkfs.ubifs as well as the ubiformat and ubinize utilities.

I did as the documentation described in UBIFS Support of http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/UBIFS_Support#Compilling_UBIFS_Tools.

#mkfs -r filesystem/ -F -o ubifs.img -m 2048 -e 126976 -c 1580

I got the errors as below.

mkfs.ubifs: invalid option -- 'F'

However, the documentation "UBIFS Support" says "On AM335x, -F option is required when creating ubifs image. If this option is not used, Kernel may crash while loading the Filesystem from UBI partition. ".

I am confused.

Are TI's staff using different and special mkfs.ubifs? How can I get mkfs.ubifs that TI's staff are using and can accept option "-F".
