DM3730 with TVP5158

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP5158, DM3730

Dear,

I am designing a 4CH video input system using the DM3730 and TVP5158. Design requirements includes:

1. Input 4 Video channels to the DM3730 simultaneously

2. With D1 or half-D1 frame size

From the datasheets, above requirements can be achieved by:

Solution A: Configure the decoder in 4CH pixel/line interleaved mode + D1 size + 8bits ITU-R BT.656 at 108MHz. However, the DM3730 video interface cannot support BT.656 up to 108MHz.. Therefore this solution can not be done.

Solution B: Configure the decoder in 4CH pixel/line interleaved mode + Half-D1 size + 8bits ITU-R BT.656 at 54MHz.. As far as I know, this solutions will work with the DM3730.

However, due to our application's specific requirement, we would like to have Half-D1 as 720x240 (Horizontal scaling: 1:1; Vertical scaling : 2:1) instead of 360x480 (Horizontal scaling: 2:1; Vertical scaling : 1:1) as declared in the TVP5158's datasheet. We want the image's width to be intact as 720.

So, my question is: is there a way to "trick" the TVP5158 to use 720x240 as "Half-D1" in solution B?!

Thank you!
