The OMAP TRM (spruh77a) states that only SD physical layer 1.1 is supported in hardware (implying SDSC cards upto 2GB). However the PSP driver notes (PSP 03.20 http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DaVinci_PSP_03.20.00.11_Device_Driver_Features_and_Performance_Guide#Driver_Features_7) states that SDHC cards (upto 32GB) are also supported.

Please can you clarify the support offered on an OMAPL-138 running Linux / PSP? (my working assumption is that SDHC cards up to 32GB can be used, but only at the SDSC 25Mhz access speed @ 3.3v).

The latest OMAPL138 MCSDK linux (kernel version 3.3) does support upto 32GB.
I have tested the 4GB,8GB and 16GB MMC and eMMC cards on OMAPL138 LCDK boards.

which eMMC cards are you tested?

can you give the specific chip models?

how the eMMC cards connect to the OMAP-L138,please give the Hardware schematic diagram.Thanks.

I have purchased the eMMC card from below link and tested the below eMMC part (micro SD eMMC card) in OMAPL138 LCDK board.

OMAP-L138 data sheet says the MMC Protocol version is MMC4.0，SDIN9DW4-16G card data sheet says the Protocol version is eMMC 5.0.

My OMAP-L138 Development board can use SD card,my linux kernel version is linux-2.6.33,if I want to use the SDIN9DW4-16G card,What to do to modify the Linux kernel？

or can I directly use it without kernel modify.please give me help,thanks.

Yes, as per OMAPL138 MMC controller, it would support v4.0 but we validated the latest eMMC versions and able to detect & work with that latest eMMC version of cards.

Try to use the latest SDK of OMAPL138 which has Linux kernel version 3.3

You should change the version check code in linux kernel.

I have use the linux kernel 3.3.0.
eMMC chip connect to the eMMC to SD card module,insert the SD card interface on the OMAP-L138 development board,give the following error message,why?
mmc0: error -110 whilst initialising MMC card

you are connect to the USB interface or SD interface?
