Use McASP to interface to ADS1278

I am trying to figure out what possibilities I have to connect an ADS1278 ADC to the AM3358.

I think the McASP is the way to go, correct?

I want to have a receive clock faster than the 26MHz the "aux_clk" is able to provide, so I was thinking external clock on ACLKR or AHCLKR.

My question is how fast a clock can I connect to ACLKR or AHCLKR? I cannot find it in the manual...

Timing information for McASP can be found in the data sheet.

This information was recently added to the new data sheet revision released on June 1.

You can find a link to the latest data sheet on the respective AM335x product folder web page.

I have one more question.

When used in TDM format. Is it possible to have not used data in the end of a frame with a size other than the size of a data slot?

The ADS1278 clocks out data in 8 slots of 24bit, but in the end there are 64bits not used before the next frame sync. Please see the picture.

Is this a problem?
