Can the DM6446 H.264 codec encode gray image sequence other than YUV format

The video source in my application is simplely raw 8bit gray image, not RGB or YUV color image.

Can the DM6446 H.264 codec encode this type of image?

It seems that there's no such an option in the codec.

Is there any solution If it really dose not support gray image?

8 bit grey is not supported.
