SYS/BIOS vs. Linux

Hi,

Since C6678 support sys/bios and linux at the same time. I have several questions as below:

1. What's the difference ?  How to make the  selection ? and what factors affect the selection?

2. What's Ti's intention ? Will Ti's all dsp devices support Linux in the future?

Regards,

The  url(http://vimeo.com/1123583#at=0) cannot be accessed in China. Could you please send it to my email (dpinglee@163.com) ?

I use C6678 for image processing, which os should I use?

If linux is engaged, how to program in PC ? still CCS ?

  • Hi,

Check out linux-c6x.org , there is some info about linux on c6x there.

SRIO and PCIe are not released for linux yet for 6678, you can get them from git though (not sure how well they work). Another thing is that linux is bigger then bios so you will have to use DDR to store your program. Linux as far as I understand runs on one core only so you will have to use bios on other cores or multiple linux instances.
