OMAP L138/C6748 capabilities with AD1835A codec

We have a project which currently uses another manufacturer's dsp with an AD1835A codec.  The setup is simple, the dsp simply talks TDM and SPI to the codec.  As the project is in the midst of a redesign anyway, I am trying to convince the manager to make the switch to the OMAP L138/C6748 SOM from Logic PD.  The boss is, however, reluctant to change.  I feel that making the switch would give us a good deal more resources to work with.  I also would like to convert to being able to use TI's development tools.

So, simply put, does anyone know of any "hidden issues" with using said chip to communicate with an AD1835A codec over TDM and SPI that might crop up and spoil the endeavor?  Any words of advice/experience would be greatly appreciated.  I do not know of any potential issues, but admittedly my experience in dsp's is just beginning to come up to speed.

Thanks in advance.
