Hello,
My name is Amir Kamzel and I'm HW engineer at LiveU (www.liveu.tv).
We're using DM6467T in our product for encoding H264 high definition video from VPIF interface to RTP packets.
In the last batch of cards that we got we encountered a problem that the DM6467T gets stuck when we start encoder operation. The unit is powered up properly and we manage to see video on the unit's display, but as soon as we start the encoder, the DM sometimes gets stuck (Video freezes, looks like ARM is dead - terminal freezes, no debugger access. DSP is probably working - DDR transaction can be seen on the DDR using oscilloscope).
We found an Errata (SPRZ307A) referred only to DM6467T in which there are two scenarios related to CPU stalling. From reading L2 DSP configuration registers, it seems that the cases in the errata might be relevant for our configuration (offset 0x01840000 is set to 0x01010002 once encoding starts).
Our encoder is from external company, but it is based on TI's encoder base line code.
Do you have any reference for the workaround suggested in the errata?
Is there any way to know if we suffer from the issue on the Errata, or maybe it's something else?
If you have any suggestion how to debug this issue?
I'd appreciate your help on this matter.
Thanks,
Amir
