YAFFS support in AM335x PSP

2816.yaff2.logCustomer want to use YAFFS2 since it has better functionality that handle power cut recovery on modern SLC/MLC NAND than UBIFS and JFFS2(http://www.linux-mtd.infradead.org/doc/ubifs.html#L_powercut), and they found some issues when integrate the YAFFS2 as enclosure log. BTW they use Micron 2KB page 512MB NAND

Could you please give some support and recommendations, thanks a lot!

Hi Jian,

I will help look into this issue. I have not used Yaffs2, but I believe it should work. Have you or your customer already seen these two articles?

Hi Jian,

I see now that YAFFS2 is not an option available in the kernel. It looks like you have to download the kernel patches for Yaffs2 support .
Has your customer already tried to apply these patches? It looks like you can find them at this git repository:

I have not tried to do this yet.

May I ask have you resolved this problem?

Now I'm facing the same issue. I've patched yaffs patch from http://www.yaffs.net. I wrote the problem resolving in this thread:

But when I start the board with the image, I can't write anything in the partition. I found many “[ 130.602203] yaffs: checking block XXXX bad” by run dmesg after I mount the patition. All the blocks are marked bad.

Could you please help me out?
