ErrorInsufficientResources bringing omax chain up and down with 5.04

I have a setup where I instantiate two capture components and four encoder components. I setup a single chain with one capture and one encoder. I bring that chain to executing state and back down to loaded a few times and after a few iterations the attempt to bring that chain back to executing will fail and the encoder component callback will get an OmxError event with error code insufficient resources.

Find attached the complete logs for that issue.

The failure seems to due to IvaScheduler_registerInstance not finding a free IVAHD resource even though IvaServer_DeRegisterInstace was performed just before.

I found the problem.

It's in the ivascheduler.c file. The load calculation when registering and unregistering instances is not identical.

When registering it is done as follows in IvaScheduler_asssignStaticResource:

ivaload = (ivaload * element->fps) / IVASCHEDULER_LOAD_FPS;

When unregistering in IvaScheduler_deRegisterInstance

ivaload = ivaload * ( xelement->fps / IVASCHEDULER_LOAD_FPS);

Substituting the second method for the first gets rid of that problem.

Thanks for letting us know..

However, I assume you meant during registarion, it is done properly and during de-registration It would not do correctly due to integer math.

ivaload = ivaload * ( xelement->fps / IVASCHEDULER_LOAD_FPS); would result in zero load if fps is less than IVASCHEDULER_LOAD_FPS (30)
