Function of Ethernet cable in EVM

Hi,

What exactly the ethernet connection is used for in the 6678 EVM?

I mean when we're not using NDK, UDP, ethernet boot mode...

Can I use only the USB JTAG? Or there's a communication between PC and the EVM that is done using the ethernet cable and if I disconnect it, I won't be able to load programs, debug, etc..?

    The Ethernet cable is not required if you are "not using NDK, UDP, ethernet boot mode."

    For my case, I do not know much about the NDK other than it has all the APIs you need to make communication across the Ethernet port easy. I do not have any test cases I run that use it.

    So, I almost never have an Ethernet cable connected to my EVM6678. In fact, most of the time the only connections I have to the board are power and my USB cable for emulation.
