First, a note to the install developer: please use /bin/sh.distrib rather than /bin/sh for your install shell. This is proper *nix etiquette (reason enough) and will remove the problems with Ubuntu>10.04 where /bin/sh->/bin/dash.
Second - I tried installing this and de-selecting the graphics and video options, leaving just the dsplink option (and base). I could note 'make components' or 'make clean' because for one, xcdtools was not installed. I suggest you review the dependencies closely and test all combinations of the installer.
