Android on DM8168 with V4L2

Hi,

1) Which is the latest version of android supported on DM8168?

2) I would like to used V4L2 along with android, is that possible? Are there any limitations?

3) I would like to redirect VIN to VOUT on DM8168 after scaling, cropping etc. Can these be done using android framework or I have to use V4L2 for this?

Hi,

1) You can get the latest android support for DM8168 from http://code.google.com/p/rowboat/

2) Only V4l2 display and OMX based chroma conversion is supported. According to my knowledge, TI does not have any plan to support V4L2 or OMX based capture in Android.

3) You can write OMX compliant HALs in Android framework to achieve this. If you need any reference OMAP4 android source should be a good starting point. However you have to make DM8168 specific changes of-course.
