DM368 based queries

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TFP410

Hi DM team,

Need below inputs for the DM368:

1. Can DM368 accept 10-bit un-processed (raw) grayscale pixel data?How to interface this 10-bit data to DM368?

2. Can DM368 do this grayscale frame grabbing at 1024 x 768 @ 30fps?

3. Can DM368 compress (in any standard video format) this data on the fly & store it on SD card as well as stream the video over ethernet?

4. Is it possible to have eDMA transfer from memory to SD card/ethernet? 5. Kindly suggest the DVI/HDMI transmitter which can be interfaced to DM368.

Thanks & Best Regards

Feroz

  • Feroz,

    1. You can use CCDC interface in DM368 to capture 10-bit video.

    2. Should be easily possible as DM368 can do 720p encode easily.

    3. Should be easily possible. The same is implemented in Appro DM36x IPNC platform.

    4. This is already there.

    5. If you need just DVI TFP410 will be good, and if you need HDMI (with audio) you can go for Sil9022a. There are HDMI transmitters from Analog Devices as well.

  • Hi Renjith,

    Thank you for the answers.

Still need more details. Please see  them below and help on these:

    1)      How can we capture a 10 bit gray scale video and store in the YUV420 format? Can IPIPEIF è IPIPE be the correct interface?

    2)      If IPIPE does not satisfy the need, is there a software to convert 10 bit raw (black and white) video/frame to YUV420 semi planar. This is what the video H264 encoders accept as you know.

    3)      Is there a use case/driver for HDMI Tx? RMD used IT6613. Or drivers for the chips you have mentioned if available.

    4)      Which is the best development platform for the use case which needs 10 bit gray scale capture DDR2, USB, Ethernet, SDCard? Preferbaly HDMI also.

    Thanks again and Best Regards

  • Hi Feroz,

Can we take this offline? Could you please mail me to renjith.thomas@pathpartnertech.com?
