Hi,

I want to use 2 graphic layers (fb0,fb1).

The echo 1 >/sys/devices/platform/vpss/graphics0/enabled command succeds,

but when I do echo 1 >/sys/devices/platform/vpss/graphics1/enabled the following error occurs

"VPSS_GRPX : please open fb1 node first."

Why it fails?

Hi,

For enabling or disabling of graphics nodes, first it needs to be opened using open system command. You are able to do for grpx0 because its opened by QT application.If its not opened means its disabled only.

Hi,

What you want to do with /dev/fb1. Why are you trying to disable it.

I'm trying to enable it. My application has an OMX chain and a thread that uses DirectFB. OMX display component uses fb0 layer and I want to use fb1 layer with DirectFb and when to blend them.

Hi,

You need to change directB to use fb1 instead of fb0. Once you change directFB to use fb1, you will be able to disable and enable fb1 as well. You can refer to following thread on how to change directFB to use fb1 instead of fb0

I did that , but even when I execute some small directFb example ./a.out --dfb:fbdev=/dev/fb1

I can't see nothing in the display, that's why I thought that I should first to enable the fb1.

FB gets enabled once you open it. DirectFB opens it by default. You are not running QT right. For debugging kill QT thread and concentrate only on DirectFB.

I think it somehow relates with fb1, because when I ran ./a.out --dfb:fbdev=/dev/fb0

it worked fine. Besides the enabled/disabled option there are other configurable options

that can cause this problem?

Hi,

You can run some small application linux like fbtest to make sure fb1 runs. After that you can try DirectFB. By default fb1 is routed to hdcomp. you can route it to on-chip HDMI display before starting fbdev

echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/display0/enabled

echo 1:hdmi > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/graphics1/nodes

I routed the fb1 to hdmi and now my DirectFb application works.
