How does the USB OTG Controller (Mentor Graphics) registers being mapped in AM3703 memory map?

This is a new design. For some reasons, the AM3703 was chosen.

For AM3703, the base address for the Mentor core is 0x480AB400.

An NDA is required for the complete description of the core registers, but you may be able to get what you need from this document (http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sprufy9/sprufy9.pdf) which is for a different device using the same Mentor core.

Please refer to the USB code present in the Arago uBoot project as a programming example/reference.

From the AM3703 manual (SPRUGN4Q), the OTG controller's base address is 0x480AB400. But That is just the TI side's of registers(starts with OTG_REVISION) . Mentor's registers starts with the Common Registers. In the DM355 USB document (sprufy9) provided, it starts at 0x400 (FAAR - Function Address Register).

please look at the musb driver, musb->ctrl_base is the base address of the Mentor registers. in some devices it is at 0x400, others has it at 0x0 - the same as the base address of USBSS.

Sorry for my bad memory - musb->mregs is the base address of Mentor registers; musb->ctrl_base is the base address of USBSS.

Roger, you can look in u-boot for some simple code. The AM3703 is similar to OMAP3. If you look in u-boot in drivers/usb/musb you'll find omap3.c and omap3.h.

Roger, besides the u-boot code Steve mentioned, drivers/usb/musb/omap2430.c in kernel is the USB glue layer for AM3703, others in the same folder are MUSB common code.

Can I finally confirm that  Mentor USB core's registers start at 0x5C040400 on AM3703?

I digged the following code out from the boot package.

No, that is the address for the AM35xx which is different from AM3703. Look at the OMAP3 address since it is the same for AM3703, 0x480AB000.

But that overlaps with TI side registers. In the manual, you indicated that OTG_REVISION is 0x480A B400. Where is the Mentor side of registers starting with FAddr.

Just clarify:

TI side registers are 32 bit wide.

While Mentor's MUSBHDRC registers are only 8 -bit wide. The first 16 registers are:

The Mentor core register starts at 0x480A B000, the USBSS register starts at 0x480A B400. the Mentor core registers are less than 0x400. There is no overlap.
