possible virus files on the EVM SD card...

I was making a backup of the SD card provided with the EVM (Linux Kernl 2.6.37 Demo AC_LSDK_CSDC_D w/SDK 5.03.00.9) and I noticed some strange files in the BOOT parition.

I can't say with 100% certainty that these files where there from the factory, but I am 99%+ sure they did not come from here.

Just a word of caution... You might want to check the SD card out in a linux box before putting it in a windows machine!

cheers

  • Tim,

These are viruses which will work using Autorun. It might be from your PC as well, if you have inserted the card before or else from the vendors PC(which is unlikely. Try inserting any FAT/NTFS formatted device(SD,MMC, USB pen drive) to your PC, write some files, unmount and see the contents again. This will help you identifying whether the Virus is in your PC or not.

  • Hi

I am not at work this week, so can't follow up on this suggestion. I did, however, run a virus scan (using Microsoft Security Essentials) right after I noticed this and it did not detect any issues.

    cheers

    /Tim
