OMAP4 GLP1.6.x 1.5GHz

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 4460

Hi.

We are seeing the kernel crash on boot when used on a 1.5GHz-capable OMAP4460.  The kernel is from GLP1.6.4.

- If a 1.2GHz OMAP4460 is used, no problem (it doesn't try to run at 1.5GHz).

- if I limit the speed to 1.2GHz on the 1.5GHz-capable device, no problem.

Has GLP1.6.4 been validated on a 1.5GHz chip?

Regards,

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

Are you using the Speed Bin enabled OMAP4460 device to test the 1.5 Ghz? OPPNTSB is the Nitro with Speed Binning Operating point which supports higher assured frequency of 1.5 GHz for MPU. Please note the following statement and ensure that you indeed have this part with speed binning before testing.

OPPNTSB (MPU@1200MHz, IVA@331MHz) operating point provides a higher assured frequency in OPPNT mode by performing binning during production test for the MPU and IVA. This operating point will only be available with some orderable part codes. Please contact the TI representative for further details.

    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Venkat

  • Hi,

GLP releases do not support 4460@1.5Gz, the proper voltage/frequency configuration is not implemented, and GLP is not tested on these devices. Nor is it planned to be.

    cheers,
