Video Synchronization between two Video out

Hi all,

I have a use case where I will have two Netra boards and two Display devices.

I want to split the video frame (eg. 1280x720) between two Netra boards, where each video output port of Netra board will show half frame (640x720 by each Netra).

Two TVs will be arranged side-by-side showing respective 640x720 making total 1280x720.

Question -

How can I ensure the smooth video effect without any artifact , since major challenge is that, video is outputted by two different boards ?

Any help on this will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Sweta

  • Hi,.

I dont think this can be done in theory as there are two different boards. But if you drive clock to both Netras using same crystal than you can achieve almost same time but you can never synchronized them.

  • Hi Hardik,

Is there any possibility to achieve this by programming timing generator of Netra ?

Can VSync of both the video source be synchronized ?
I think, Genlock is one of the way to achieve this ?

Can I have more information on above or any other options for Netra ?

    Thanks,
    Sweta

  • Hi,

Synchronizing two boards is nearly impossible theoretically. But you can achieve near results by feeding the clock from same crystal and having same power routing for both chips and same power switch.

I dont know what Genlock is?
