how to log in MontaVista as a non-root account

For L137 EVM board, after booting, in Teraterm terminal it appears

......

MontaVista(R) Linux(R) Professional Edition 5.0.0 (0801921)

(none) login:

I can log in as root, is there a way to log in as a non-root account?  Thanks.
