Emergency About DM8168 PCIe Endpoint!!!

hi,

I read  Page 5 in the doc <DM816x_AM389x_PCI_Express_Endpoint_Boot_Driver_User_Guide> ,which said"PCIe EP Boot Driver has No interrupt support".I want to confirm that DM8168 PCIe as endpoint could be used to interrupt the host?

        Thanks!

        Best Regards!

  • hi Strachey,

The PCIe HW module interrupt support is explained in the DM816x TRM : http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/SPRUGX8

Please have a look in chapter 17 Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe), section 17.2.9 Interrupt Support

  • hi Pavel,

            Thanks for your reply!

In the doc《DM81xx AM38xx PCI Express Endpoint Driver User Guide》,it said“At present, only polling option is being used on EP and RC side. MSI support is currently not tested. ”

Is that means if i use dm8168 as EP ,and x86 PC as RC, the dm8168 could not send video data to PC using interrupt?

            Thanks!

             Best Regards!

    Strachey

  • Hi Strachey,

Are you using the latest EZSDK 5.04.00.11 with latest PSP 04.04.00.01 ?

In this EZSDK, the DM81xx AM38xx PCI Express Endpoint Driver User Guide doc is replaced with TI81XX_PCI_Express_Endpoint_Boot_Driver_User_Guide pdf - http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI81XX_PCI_Express_Endpoint_Boot_Driver_User_Guide, where this known issue does not exist.

    BR,
