GPIO Interrupts for 816X EVM

Hello,

I am using ti-ezsdk_dm816x-evm_5_03_01_15. I am trying to setup an interrupt for a specific GPIO pin (GP0[4]). I have worked with interrupts in a simple rtos, but never in linux. I do not know where in the linux kernel one would write code to enable this IRQ or how to setup an ISR for this IRQ. Can some one with experience in this regard provide some guidance?

I have the same task. My code now is:

status = gpio_request(PIN_IRQ_PLD, "sample_name");
status = gpio_direction_input(PIN_IRQ_PLD);

pld_irq_num = gpio_to_irq(PIN_IRQ_PLD);
if(pld_irq_num)
{
//Request IRQ, make sure that pld_irq_num should be non-error value
status = request_irq(pld_irq_num, &PldInterruptHandler, 0, "gpio_test", NULL);
set_irq_type(pld_irq_num, IRQ_TYPE_LEVEL_HIGH);
}

But interrupt doesn't working... I'm looking for the solution too

Hi Alexey/Michael,

1. Configure pinmux register to use that particular pin as GPIO with INPUT enabled.

2. Make sure that no other driver uses the same pin. By using debugfs mux entries we can identify which pins are used for which purpose.

Debugfs entries will give the currently used GPIO values.

3. Interrupt shuold be generated on that pin other wise PldInterruptHandler will not call.

When I changed settings of interrupt from IRQ_TYPE_LEVEL_HIGH to IRQ_TYPE_LEVEL_LOW I got interrupt, so interrupt initialization is correct.

By the way, if I want interrupt at pin GP0[0], then in functions like gpio_request I must write 0?

gpio_request(0, "sample_name");

gpio_direction_input(0);

Is this correct for GP0[0]?

P.S. I can't find "Verify Answer" button :(
