Failed to flash x-load from user space

Hi,

I need to flash x-load from user space (via a program). I am able to flash u-boot/kernel/FS but not x-load. I am calling system API to execute 'flash_eraseall' and 'nandwrite' utilities, but once board re-booted, it doesn't load x-loader.

Hi Rahul,

The problem could be the ECC algorithm selection in kernel. Generally x-loader needs BCH8 as bootrom uses BCH8. If your kernel is configured for other algorithms then this can happen.

I have build x-load with 4-bit BCH hardware ECC. But I don't see any option to set BCH algo in uImage menu config. How can I configure kernel for this ? I am using kernel 2.6.32.

Rahul,

You can select from the code. You have to change the algorithm selected inside the file, arch/arm/mach-omap2/board-flash.c or your board file.
