DM816x interface support 4 channel 8bit 148.5MHz full HD video data?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP5158

Hey, Guys

Now, we are researching the HD-SDI Encoder/DVR with DM816x Platform and confused on DM816x video capture ability and interface with GV7601(HD-SDI Receiver).

From what I see in dm816x TRM, the HDVPSS can have 4x8Bit video input on the two video ports (two independently clocked 8 bit video per video port).and there is shown"YUV422 8-bit embedded sync mode (exclude BT. 1120) " and “YUV422 8-bit discrete sync mode”, it seems that VPSS only support 8-bit external timing(VSYNC/HSYNC/FLD) in BT.1120 8bit mode.

As we know, the GV7601 support 8-bits 148.5MHz HD pixel data[G(19-12)], giving up lowest 2-bits[G(11-10)]. so the EAV/SAV code is converted "3FF" into "FF"(like 8-bit BT.656), Besides, the BT656 has four TRS words (FF 00 00 XYZ) and BT.1120 has eight TRS words (FF FF 00 00 00 00 XYZ XYZ)in 8-bit mode.it shows that they(HDVPSS and GV7601) cannot connect directly except using external timing mode.

So I think DM816x HDVPSS can connect with GV7601 directly using external timing mode and support 4 x 8-bit 148.5MHz 1080p30fps independently. is that right?

Hoping you can help on it. thanks.
