6657 NAND BOOT

The datasheet and the Keystone Booloader UG are in conflict.   The 6657 includes a section on NAND booting, the UG omits it.   Since the 6657 came after the original UG, I would like the think that the datasheet would be more correct and that the UG has not been updated to reflect the complete Keystone family (at least that is my hope).

Just to let you know, I did go back and check the versions.   I reviewed SPRUGY5B.   It was the latest version I could find.   June 2012.

You are correct, the keystone userguide is not updated with NAND boot information. The datasheet is correct, we do support NAND boot on C6657. Currently you are use our latest MCSDK2.1.x package which has NAND boot support for C6657 supported.

The answer is contradictory to other information I have been told by other TI employees.     I was told that the EVM only supports EEPROM boot with a secondary loader for FLASH.   I did a cursory look over the bootloader code that is contained on the CDROM that came with the EVM.   Either I missed the correlation, or it operates differently.   I recently saw some recent posts concerning lockup on the EEPROM.    That is why I am asking and want to veer away from the EEPROM bootloader.

yes you can do NAND boot in C6657. In C667x the RBL(ROM boot Loader) did not support the NAND boot so we provided through the I2C boot in the form of IBL. But in C665x series on wards, the RBL support NAND boot. We are yet to update the feature in bootloader UG. I will see if I a do an unofficial write up and attach. Please bear with me for couple of days. I will try to get you by mid next week.
