Error in capturing the AUDIO using the alsa driver

Hi everyone,

     I had opened a pcm device on DM816X board using the API snd_pcm_open (&capture_handle, "hw:0,0", SND_PCM_STREAM_CAPTURE, 0) to capture the audio.But i am getting (input/output) error when i am trying to capture using this pcm port.Can any one please provide the pointers to solve this problem.
