Emulation of EEPROM with SDK 1.0.0.4 - EtherCAT

Hey,

I`m working with the SDK 1.0.0.4 on the TMDXICE3359 and try to implement a EtherCAT- device.

I want to know where the EEPROm is emulated. Is it in the ICSS? Where is the software for this? In the firmware part are only the frame handler an the interface to the A8.

Hi,

TI ESC uses EEPROM emulation mode and EEPROM read/write is performed by A8 and not ICSS. Firmware indicates pending EEPROM operation via AL status register and PDI interrupt.

Look for EEPROM_SPI in the code for SPI flash based ESI EEPROM support for ICE.

sdk/protocols/ethercat_slave/ecat_appl/EcatStack//tiesc_eeprom.h has the EEPROM data in volatile mode.

Sry, but where is now the data stored? ICSS or A8?

Isn`t the EEPROM in the new SDK non- volatile?

Data stored in SPI flash and EEPROM cache is maintained in internal memory for faster update and EEPROM cache is flushed to SPI flash periodically in case of EEPROM write. I think there is a bug around the syncing to flash logic which will be fixed in the next SDK update.

It is non-volatile for ICE and volatile for IDK - this will also get fixed in the next update.
