Steps for simulation in tms320c6670

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6670

Hello all,

I am new to TI processor i just wanted to know if it is possible to simulate hardware accelerators (like BCP, FFT module).

If it please could guide me how to do it or share any document which could help me.

Thankyou,

Regards.

Denzil.

  • Hi Denzil

This link should help answer your questions http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TCI6616/C6670/TCI6608/C6678/TCI6618_Device_simulator_User_Guide#Device_simulator_--_IP_model_details

  • Hi Uday,

Thank you for the reply. I will get back  if i have more queries.

  • Hello all,

Can BCP hardware accelerator be simulated because the document says not applicable for simulation for BCP hardware accelerator  in the processor (tms320c6670).

    Please guide me.

    Regards,

    Denzil.

  • Hi Denzil

As per http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/p/194945/696912.aspx#696912 it looks like BCP simulation was in fact intended for the 6670 configuration but was missed. I will check with the e2e post author Nizamudheen to see whether simulation on the 6670 configuration was eventually implemented in a subsequent CCS release, and get back to you on that. In the meantime, there is an interim workaround that he proposes in that e2e post, which you can try.

  • Hi Denzil

I checked with Nizam and the CCS team. This BCP simulation for 6670 will be incorporated in the CCS v5.3 release.

You can track the roadmap and estimated release dates of CCS at http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Code_Composer_Studio_Roadmap

Hopefully in the meantime the workaround works out for you

  • Hi Uday,

Sorry for the late reply but i the above question is answered and thanks a lot for the input i finished the simulation.

    Regards,

    Denzil.
