Hi,
In my application, i need three audio data channel out from OMAP-4470.
So Can McBSP1, McBSP2 and McBSP3 port interface with three different audio codec for audio data communication ?
Thanks,

Hi Hitesh,
As per the OMAP4470 TRM, all the McBSP channels have different interfaces namely Serial, Audio and Voice interfaces respectively and so it might be possible if the software handles it accordingly.

Hi Venkat,
Thanks for your quick reply.
I am confused with the statement in TRM. As McBSP1 will work for Digital Base band (DBB), McBSP2 for Audio and McBSP3 for Voice data. So it means if I want to use McBSP1or McBSP3 for audio data transmission then it will not work proper ?
Please clarify my confusion.
Thanks,
Hitesh Gambhava
Hi Hitesh,
In the TRM, it mentions about the recommended usage but it does point out the fact that this is one of the non-exhaustive list of usage scenarios.
"The recommended use (nonexhaustive) for each McBSP module in the device is:
• McBSP1: Digital baseband (DBB) data
• McBSP2: Audio data
• McBSP3: Bluetooth® voice data
• McBSP4: Midi data"
Does that clarify your queries.
Thanks & Best Regards,
Venkat
Thanks Venkat for clarify.
It means I can use any McBSP port to receive Audio data by taking some care in SW code.

Hi Hitesh,
Yes, as long as you take sufficient care in your SW there should not be any limitation from hardware support.
Could you please check verify answer if it has clarified your query so that this post can be closed.
