Hello,

when different channels which use different codecs are mapped to the same IVA, does it mean the IVA is loaded and unloaded each time with different codec, or can the IVA be loaded with more than one codec ? What is the communication between Video M3 and hdvicp2, is it that one video m3 coprocessor communicates (through syslink) with 3 IVA ?

When different channels are used on same IVA, the loading & unloading has to happen each time with different codec. IVA cannot be loaded with more than one codec.

Hello,

Does the term codec and instance is the same, i.e. IVA can be loaded with only one instance each time, and we can't load more than one instance (HW Limitation) ?

Hi,

For every algorithm to be run on IVA it has to be loaded. So if different channels has different algorithms, algorithm gets loaded for each channel. Two or more algorithms cannot be loaded at once.
