  • Can you  provide your pppd options?

  • Hi,

I tried to attach the options file, but its giving that type of file not allowed. The options file contains only lock.

    Thanks.

    raghava

  • Ok - can you show how you start pppd?

Try to give exec permissions  (even 777) for options file.

Also make some experiments with these options because maybe you need more to configure pppd:

This is example of pppd options file for serial connection:

    /dev/ttyO1

    230400

    local

    crtscts

    show-password

    user xxx

    nodetach

    connect '/system/bin/ychat -s -v -V -f /etc/ppp/chatScripts/gprs-chat-up'

    noipdefault

    ipcp-accept-local

    ipcp-accept-remote

    novj

    novjccomp

    disconnect '/system/bin/ychat -v -s -f /etc/ppp/chatScripts/gprs-chat-down'

    defaultroute

    logfile /system/etc/ppp/ppp.log

    debug

    maxfail 10

    linkname ppp0

    usepeerdns

i.e. 230400 - speed, local  - means that modem is connected by 4 wire and it is direct no-modem type uart connection   etc.

  • Hi,

i am given exec  permission for options file and getting below msg.

    /etc/ppp # exec 777 options
    /bin/sh: exec: line 10: 777: not found
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
    / #

if i execute the wvdialconf file i am getting

    baud speed is 115200

    and

    modem is /dev/ttyS2

advise me what to do? should i add to options file send by you.

    Thanks advance

    raghava

  • exec 777 options     -> shuld be chmod 777 options

No, my options are an example only - see pppd doc and write your options file which depend on your modem.

Also these options are for pppd, not for wvdial.

If you want to use wvdial - examine its config.

  • Hi,

After i adding to options file executed pppd like this.

    /etc/ppp/peers # pppd call gprs&
/etc/ppp/peers # Press CTRL-C to close the connection at any stage!
