Can we create multiple decoder instances (4) in omap 3530 ?

    It really depends on the type of decoder, the profile and resolution (which determines the resulting memory requirements), and the available resources (DMA channels, memory) allocated to the algorithms.

    OMAP3530 can handle H264-BP or MPEG4-SP at 30fps at D1 or less.

    Obviously, one can instantiate an encoder and decoder at the same time since it also supports Video Conferencing (I think at QCIF).

    You might be able to instantiate multiple instances at SQCIF, you really would need to check your codecs resource requirements, add them up, and compare against the available resources on the platform.

    Hopefully, one of the codec experts on the forum can give a better answer.

    Also, typically OMAP3430 isn't really meant for multichannel video. If you want a serious multichannel device, you may want to look at the DM816x or DM814x:

With QCIF its working fine. But we need multiple instances with VGA.

Is it possible to run at least 2 instances with VGA ?

Should we change any thing in CMEM or dvsdk ?

Please let us know the procedure.

   I don't know, if you can run 2 simultaneous of VGA.     You could try to run one, sum up its resource usage, and double it, then see if you can update the memory map to accommodate that much algorithm memory and buffer space.
