I am interested in purchasing a processor that will allow me to filter audio stimuli in real-time so that I can present it with a visual component. My stimuli is prcessed on mac and not PC. This will need to work through a mac operating system and give me the capabilities of filtering. I need someone to please help me find a product at least to start. Thanks for ANY help you can give me. I am an audiologist and not an engineer and I am beginning my dissertation and manipulating the auditory visual stimuli to be synched has become a big glitch! Thanks again.

That depends on what you're planning to do, but as a starting point for audio filtering take a look at these two development boards

The 6748 DK is on sale until September 30th =).

I've never used them (I did something similar with C6711 but it's obsolete now), but both are designed for audio processing (and other stuff) and have audio jacks for input and output.

As you're using a mac I think you'll have to run Code Composer in Windows (installed in a virtual machine, maybe) in order to program the DSP.

Just for curiosity, how do you plan do design the filters?
