hi all

this is a serious problem i have been facing from several days

we have a custom boadrd which has been designed with omap3530 processor

the board has a taken reference design from BB revC board with 512 MB flash..

after flashing a MLO and uImage.img acoording to the procedure given in the link below

during booting i m getting the error like "Error: Bad compare! failed"

what is the main reason for this error ?

i also manullay built the MLO and u-boot.img from u-boot-mainline

git://gitorious.org/beagleboard-default-u-boot/mainline.git

still the same error continues..

pls point me to right direction to boot the board from the flash..

i tried abot 10 diffrent MLO.. but cant get rid of the below error

Kiran,

Please check the ECC algorithm used for flashing u-boot image to NAND. The NAND algorithm selection is by running the command "nandecc hw 0" "nandecc hw 2 " etc..

there is no commands like nandecc hw 0 or nandecc hw 2 in uboot ..

i followed these commands

mmc init 
fatload mmc 0 82000000 MLO -beagleboard
nand unlock 
nandecc hw
nand erase 0 80000
nand write 82000000 0 20000
nand write 82000000 20000 20000
nand write 82000000 40000 20000
nand write 82000000 60000 20000
fatload mmc 0 0x80200000 u-boot.img 
nandecc sw
nand erase 80000 170000
nand write 0x80200000 80000 170000

Kiran,

Can you send me the logs when you try these commands?

Also try using nandecc hw before flashing u-boot.img

actually i changed the u-boot then used the command nandecc hw 2

now everthing is working just fine

I have the same question...(BeagleBoard Rev.C5)

but i don't know how to update the new MLO and u-boot.bin

how do i flash the new MLO and u-boot.bin?
