Hello

I am using CCS5.2.1.00018 and target C6746 with sxds510_USB . I am creating a brand new hello_world project through the new ccs project GUI and choosing SYSBIOS/Generic example\Hello example. Building and linking went ok but when I load the .out it never stops in main, so I went and I disabled go to main. when I do that I get the following error:

"Can't find a source file at "/db/ztree/library/trees/xdctargets/xdctargets-e09x/src/ti/targets/rts6000/boot.c"

Can you please point me to what I am doing wrong.

Another interesting thing I noticed, If I connect to an OMAP-L138 instead of a 6746, I can load and run to main no problem. If I go back and connect to a c6746 with same JTAG setup that worked with the the OMAP it won't work any thoughts?

Hi Adil,

Where did you get the C6746 board from ? I suspect your board is not being initialized properly. On OMAPL-138 you probably used the gel files provided by TI which initialize the board, and hence your application runs normally.

I forgot to point out before that this is not an error. This just means that CCS is trying to search for the source file "boot.c" so it can open it for debugging purposes and could not find it along the default path.

That board is a custom that we built, however when I run non sysBIOS all works well, how does the sysBIOS initialize the board differently then normal code? it is the same gel file? can you tell me more what I should be looking at to learn more?

Hi Adil,

The GEL file initializes the memory map for the debugger and performs all required initializations (like register init, ...). You can learn more about GEL files here:

Adil,

Generraly this type of problem is common when you just started the sys/bios codeing.

1)Firstly just check your RTSC configuration.

2) In RTSC configuration just try to connect correct DSP platform.

If these things are correct then You can resolve this problem.

I think your problem is because of the Wrong platform selection (Just check it once).

One more thing ,Just put the fflush(stdout) after your printf statement to print on console.

I think it will resolve your issue ....

I also experienced the same problem as like you .

But my hardware is TMS320DM8168 EVM board and I selected the c6748 platform for this board (as this board having DSP:C6748).

I put the fflush(stdout) after this printf statement then I got the required output on console.

You are absolutely right when I went and I created a C6746 platform instead of the default C6748 everything worked! I don't understand the difference since they 46 and 48 have the same memory layout...can anybody help with why is that the case?

Studinstru,

flush is internally called when your program exits. It is not required to add an explicit call if your program is exiting normally.

I dont see a evm6746 platform. Did you use evm6747 platform instead of evm6748 ?
