I see the OMAP-L138 schematic sumbol for OrCad in the product folder online. We use Altium and can not convert symbols from OrCad.
Is there a way someone can convert the symbol and provide it?
We have discovered that we can convert a full schematic page from OrCad, If someone can put the symbol into a OrCad schematic and email the schematic sheet to me, we can then import it and extract the symbol. It's a trick that works.
Thanks,

Attached is the OMAPL138 schematic saved in OrCad version 7.2, you should now able to import it into Altium.
Thanks

Attached is version A6 being save in OrCad version 7.2 format which you should able to import into Altium. I can't seem to find a way to save it in .ALS format.
Thanks

Hi David,
Many thanks - this has imported successfully - many thanks
Sorry to be a pain but are there gerebers available as some of the components have odd pad shapes that short with other pads, and some have ben translated at odd angles etc and I would like to check these. Once again many thanks for your support.

Andy
Hi David,
Once again many thanks for all your help - our requirements have changed a little - is it possible that you have both the schematic and layout in PSDs and PADS Logic format?
Many thanks

There is no direct way to do the conversion from Allegro to Pads. Mentor does not offer a translator for that conversion, and Cadence does not export to a compatible format.
It is possible to import Allegro files into the newest version of Altium Designer. Mentor does offer a translator that can go from Altium Designer to Pads. So, one method would be to import the Allegro design to Altium Designer Summer 08 version, save it, then translate that into Pads format. The Altium importer is outstanding, so the result should be pretty good.
Another way is to use Mentor's CAMCAD translator. I heard the result is not that good, but it does work.
Still another method is to install Valor's ODB++ addon for Allegro, save an ODB++ version of the Allegro file, load it into CAM350, and then save a PADS file. It does a passable job, but not as good as using Altium Designer. For this one, I can save ODB++version, but then someone has to take it into CAM350 and convert it.
Let me know how you want to proceed on this one.
Thanks
David
