evm from mistral comes with four 8-bit chips connected to ddr0 and another four

8-bit chips connected to ddr1. These all comprise 1G memory.

As we want to design 512M system, can i just delete chips connected to ddr1 ?

just using four 8-bit chips connected to ddr0 only ?

Is there any document i must see to change system configuration ?

That should work. I have two 128Mx16 chips connected to DDR0, it works fine.

You need to change uboot code arch/arm/include/asm/arch-ti81xx/ddr_defs.h, from interleaved to noninterleaved.

And you need to change that famous EZSDK memory map.

If you use only one DDR then you can not operate in interleave mode. If you have two DDRs, both of them can be operated in interleaved mode which would give you double throughput. Please refer TRM document for more clarification.

May be you can 256 MB on each of the EMIFs and operate in interleave mode.
