Hello,

I would like to start new develpment regarding Building Automation. And I found out that AM3359 Industrial Development Kit is a great evaluation board. And I have been checking various information on TI website.

I would like to develop software on Linux. And I will revise hardware according to project requirements after AM3359 IDK test.

As you know, in my case, boot loader, Linux kernel and device driver C source files should be provided. They are necessary when I make new hardware based on IDK schematic and start software design work.

My question is

Could I receive BSP ( boot loader, Linux kernel and driver source files ) when I purchase AM3359 Industrial Develpment Kit? Otherwise, could I get them from other websites?

Jay,

the IDK is targeted to real-time applications. So currently there is no Linux PSP available. However a few people here on the forums have been dealing with that issue on their own. Maybe someone can make whatever they have achieved so far public. As we are talking open source here...

There is Linux support for the GP EVM, BeagleBone and the new Starterkit. Why don't they work for you?

I checked Starterkit information. But, I was not able to find out Starterkit schematic file. If I am missing something, could you kindly let me know how I can find out Starterkit schematic file?

And could you confirm that Linux BSP C source files are provided when I buy Starterkit?

Thank you for prompt and kind information. Your information is very helpful. Frank mentioned GP EVM at his reply to my question. Is the GP EVM equal to AM335x Evaluation Module ( TMDXEVM3358 ) in case of AM335x processors.

Could you kindly confirm that Linux BSP source files are provided when I buy AM335x Evaluation Module?

Hi Jay,

GP EVM should stand for General Purpose EVM, I think. There is currently only one EVM, the TMDXEVM3358 you mentioned. And yes, the Linux EZ SDK is provided when you buy the module (http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdxevm3358 - please check "What's Included" section). Linux is free - you can download it right away either following the link from the EVM page, or the link that I posted above. And it supports EVM, BeagleBone and Starter Kit. Check out all the links on these pages - there is a lot of information you can get.

But, I am not able to find out AM335x EVM page at wiki.ti.

Could you let me know page address information?
