Differences with lower pin packages?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3352

HI there,

Can you please help me understand the limitations/differences on the lowest pin pkg for the AM3352?  What functionality will we be giving up by going with the lowest pin count?  Also,  will we be able to use both lanes of GigE simulatenously on the lower pin count pkg?

please confirm.

thanks,

  • The answer to this question depends on your specific pin multiplexing configuration.  The best way to visualize this is to compare the first two columns of the Ball Characteristics Table in the AM335x data sheet.  Examine the signal name for each mode of the equivalent  ZCZ pin for each ZCE pin with a NA entry.  If you need one of these signal functions and it can not be configured to another ZCE pin or the only other ZCE pin that provides this signal function is already being used for another signal function, you will need to use the ZCZ package.

The Ethernet Switch port 2 and USB port 1 are not available on the ZCE package.

    Regards,
    Paul
