Assembler differences C6457/C6414

Hi there,

I have some assembler for a c6457 device. I wish to port the code to a c6414. Are there any differences between the assembly language instruction sets between these two devices I should know about. i.e. should I be able to port without problems?

The C6414 uses the C64x DSP core. The C6457 uses the C64x+ core. The TMS320C64x/C64x+ DSP CPU and Instruction Set Reference Guide lists all of the instructions conveniently for you, with notes on which ones are in the C64x+ and not in the C64x.

The C64x+ does have instructions that do not exist in the C64x. If your assembly code uses those, then it cannot be ported by simply re-running the assembler.
