not able to read RAW data from OV sensor

Hi all,

S/W Release version: IPNC_RDK_3.00

Platform: DM8127

I received the IPNC setup that works well with the MT9J003 (12-bit RAW) sensor.

Looking to integrate OV sensor(10-bit RAW) to it.

Assumed default ISIF / IPIPE_IF settings used for MT9J003 sensor works well with OV sensor as well.(since both are RAW sensors.)

Registers of OV are succesfully set using I2C.

By Enabling the DDR mode, now trying to read RAW data from CADU/CADL address. But data available here is '0'(ZERO) always...!! but I am looking for some RAW image...!!

Anyone knows the problem or possible solution??

Ravikiran,

Is the capture successful from resizer output? Or are you trying to output from ISIF first?

Hi Rajat,

I am trying to read data from ISIF itself with "Capture display mode" ON. Not concentrating on Re-sizer output as of now...

I suspect that you may not be getting ISIF interrupts as well; in that case the configuration of the VP, IPIPEIF & ISIF is not complete or tuned for the capture from OV sensor.

Are you trying to capture YUV or BAYER? if so 8/10/12 bits? Please review the configuration of IPIPEIF & ISIF register accordingly. Also you may need to review the ISS VP registers to check if the HSYNC & VSYNC polarity is correct.

Thank you for the Hints provided!!

I just switched to actual streaming option instead of RAW capture and display, since RAW capture was not successful.(Just for a Trial).

Amazing..!! It works ... in the sense, I am able to Stream data over RTSP...!!

But, here the picture/video is not clear.(Please find attached Image screen-shot ).

As I mentioned earlier I am using OV sensor which supports 10-bit RAW(BGGR). I did the modification accordingly in below ISIF registers to support specified colour format & 10 bit data.

isif_reg->MODESET
isif_reg->CCOLP
isif_reg->CGAMMAWD
isif_reg->CCDCFG

Still I am not getting the data as expected...!!

Ravikiran,

From the picture above -

1. I think your pitch setting may be wrong, what is the resolution you are trying to output?

2. The color pattern is wrong, please check the sensor spec and set the CCOLP register to set the right color pattern.

Hi Rajat,

Picture pasted above is taken with below information.

1. I am trying with 1920x1080. (This OV sensor support 1920x1080 Progressive).

2. Supported OV sensor color pattern is BGbGrR. Since I am capturing progressive data, I changed ISIF->CCOLP=0xE4E4.

Hi Rajat,

First of all, Thanks a lot for ur support ..:)

I could see some progress after understanding the IPIPE/ISIF registers.

Earlier I changed the color pattern of ISIF registers, but IPIPE register color pattern was actually been set for MT9J003 not my OV. Now I corrected it. I am able to see some good picture close to real time env. :)

Still the Image/Video quality is very poor & problem in capturing the moving object (The capture image blurs). (Please find the image attached below)

We see some saturation in the centre of the image.(Please see pink area in the centre of image.)

Is there any way to improve the quality or increasing sharpness of the image? Any hooks please ?
