AM1808 eval board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1808, OMAP-L138

Hello everybody!

I am about to (re) start development with ARM. I am considering buying an AM1808 development board.

I looked at the following page: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/EVM_Overview_-_AM1808

where I found a pointer to http://www.logicpd.com/products/system-on-modules/zoom-am1808-evm/

This EVM would really fit my needs.

My question is: this is not a TI board. If I buy it, will I have some support on this forum? In the past, I have

been working with a DaVinci DM365 Leopard Board. But when I came here with some questions, I was

told that this was not a Texas Instruments EVM, therefore no support.

The AM1808 board mentioned above is linked to some TI page. May I assume that I will get some support?

Beside this, is can anybody point me to some good book or tutorial explaining how things work when using

linux on that board. Especially: what lives where. At start up, everything is in the flash (supposing I don't

use NFS or serial boot). Does U-Boot run directly from flash, or is it first loaded to RAM before running?

If so, who does load U-boot to flash, etc.. Well, I really need a hands-on tutorial.

Thanks for any hint,

Pascal
