Use UART host tool in command line

I need to download my software on my TMS320C6748 board thanks to the UART, in order to put it into the mDDR. I need to download the embedded software from another IHM software.

Can the UART host tool be controlled iby a DOS command line ? May be another tool do it ?

Christophe,

I am not sure I understand your question. Are you trying to boot your application code on C6748 using UART ?

If the answer to above question is yes, TI provides Serial flashing and boot utilities package that contains a command line tool that allows you load code over serial port. This tool is refered to as the slh tool. In order to use it you need to build an application out file and create a UART boot image using AISGen tools. Then set your boot switches to UART boot mode and use slh to load the image. Here is the link to the documentation:

Thank you for your response Rahul.

Your are right, I need to download my embedded software thanks to the UART. In fact I have an hardware bug to boot from the SPI flash. The UART solution is possible for my product and it is a workaround.

I understand from your response that the serial boot and flash loading utility can also be used to download a UART image. For me this tool was only to dowload software in the flash. After all, everything depends on the AIS boot type.

I will check it today.

I have load my embedded software with succes by using the tool: slh_OMAP-L138.exe (the second letter is a 'L').
